Comment: In all my years of buying fish online, I have never experienced a more perfect transaction. The fish all arrived in perfect condition and I have never seen so much attention given to packing the fish right. Each fish were packed individually with a piece of carbon and there wasn't even the slightest ammonia or waste present in the fish bags. Well done Dan! Comment: I never liked buying fish online because of my fear the shipping companies will mess it up. But I really needed these fish. I ordered 6 alleni rainbows and 6 kali tawa rainbows. All arrived alive and well despite the insolence of UPS in cold Colorado winter. The tawa are already showing spawning behavior not even a full day in my tank! Will only be buying fish from Dan from now on just because of how well everything was packed, not to mention the healthy specimens!

Comment: Another amazing group of fish. All my fish arrived alive. Guppy gave birth during transportation so I'm now the proud owner of some guppy fry. The pygmy sunfish colored up relly well after being introduced to their new home. I believe there is at least one male and one female but since they didn't really color up until after being introduced to the tank it's hard to tell unless I manage to see multiple at once

Comment: For the first time since I've been watching the website (2 yrs) they had chili rasbora, celestial pearl danio and wild bettas! I immediately ordered them!After a 24 hour delay due to weather, they arrived. I was worried, but the fish are fine, even after 54 or so hours in the box. The packaging & bagging methods are excellent! All fish were upright and alert, no marginal fish suffering from extended stay in the bag. This morning everybody looks fine. Now got to fatten them up! Comment: I ordered around 30 corys (pygmy and hastatus). I was nervous because they were delayed an extra day due to a storm, but they arrived in great condition! No signs of illness and they acclimated perfectly in my planted tank with the other pygmy corys. Within a few hours they were all swimming around together and look SO happy! Comment: Ordered cherryshrimp, green tetras and cory hastatus. All tetra arrived fine, very boisterous. Hastatus looked like they went through “an experience”, 1 Cory DOA (i suspect packaging failure as it almost had no air - was refunded), several others with some scratches, couple in rough shape. About 2 weeks later i am missing one more Cory (though could be hiding), the rest seem to be doing much better. 1 cory has extra black spot on 1 of its side that darkened and grew, almost like natural pigment (?). Green tetras are boisterous gluttons, cherry shrimp (i received 5/4!), seem to be good, though one is growing up completely clear (?). Overall happy with company, having this source is invaluable to noobies like me who might not be specialists in diagnosing fish ailments. Thank you, Dans Fish staff

Comment: It was cold and windy out, so the fish were a bit chilled. But they were all alive and have suffered no ill effects thus far. The Fox Lizard and Erromyzon Hillstream Loaches are very pretty. The Dwarf Mollies are also charming. I wish I had found them earlier so I could get more than three. The only hiccup is that the website's shipping calculator listed the box as full with only 9 fish in it. The box came with an empty padding bag, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't let me add another fish while ordering.

Comment: I requested more females, and five of the eight were indeed female. All but one of the fish came in good condition. One of them though was DOA and looked like it had its abdomen torn. Dan's fish refunded his cost and tested the tank to check for pathogens. Consensus is that the DOA was damaged in shipping. Three weeks in, one of the females looks a bit skinny. But otherwise they are doing well.

Comment: I’ve always struggled to get healthy cardinal tetras from other sellers—either they arrived stressed, or I couldn’t keep them alive for long. This was my first order from Dan’s Fish, and every single cardinal not only survived, but they’re thriving in my tank. Bright colors, active, and eating well. I also ordered orange Venezuelan corydoras, and they all showed up perfectly healthy and are doing amazing. Their color and behavior were spot-on right out of the bag. One thing that really impressed me was the shipping quality. When I opened the box, the internal temperature was 75°F, and I live in North Alabama. Yes—Dan’s Fish is more expensive than most places. But after this experience, I can say confidently: the quality is absolutely worth it. Healthy fish, zero losses, and an stress-free experience. I’ll be ordering again!

Comment: This was the first time I've ordered from Dan's Fish. I waited a few weeks to write this review so I could really see how they did. I ordered a Apisto Cacatuoides Double Red Trio. Initially I was a nervous of the price since I hadn't ordered before and wasn't sure of the quality. Everything I had read said Dan's Fish was one of the top places to get mail order live fish, and they were correct. You totally get what you pay for. The three fish I ordered came very well packaged and looked very good right out of the package. Once they were in the aquarium they looked happy and colored up quickly. They have been in there for about 3 weeks and both females already have little baby apistos. Overall just a 5 out of 5 experience all the way around.

First, I want to say that I saw an extremely positive review on r/loaches complimenting how well packaged the critters were and how well they flourished in a short time. I'd gotten some kuhli loaches from a LPS and I wanted to get them some more little friends. In my order, I asked to please give the loaches kisses as a little good luck charm. I got a reply back of 'fish kisses incoming' and melted, that made my week :) They were shipped on monday and tuesday morning they were on my doorstep. Each little loachie was double bagged and packed tightly (not too tight) into a form fit syrofoam box. As I acclimated them, they were really lively. Now they've been in their new home for about a week, and they're *so* adventurous!! I wanted to buy from Dan's Fish in hopes of having the healthiest loaches, and I really feel like I found that. I could not be happier with the service I received, and for the little critters in my care. Thank you so much!!

Started by periodically checking the updates with the email Dan's Fish sent me and at first I didn't understand why they were mailed at 6 pm but I now realize they were purposefully mailing them at the last second because they knew when UPS would pick them up from the airport and wanted them in the bags for the shortest time possible. Comment: Once again all 10 new Emperor Kerri Tetras arrived in high spirits, (they definitely wanted out of the bags!). They were pale as ghosts, but immediately settled in and their colors returned! FYI: I recently watched a video (8 yrs old) showing how you pack and ship every order. It seems like an awful lot of work and CARE for the small fee you charge. ;) No I'm not suggesting you raise your shipping prices! ;)

Comment: Another great experience! Everyone was packed very well with a small heat-pack to keep them perfectly warm in the winter months. Chilis are still quite baby but otherwise seem in good condition. Finally getting them to eat for me on day 2 and am optimistic the rest of quarantine will go off without a hitch. As usual, the corys I got from Dan are the fattest I've ever seen available commercially. Two seem to be very rotund mature females based on how orb-shaped they are. Thanks again for the great fish!

Comment: So this was my 46th order (number) from Dan's in about 13 months. Yes, 46th - and whether I added, cancelled, moved dates, argued the appropriate price for mellis...I have always been met with top notch customer service. Now do they have the most variety? No, but what they have is the best you can buy and the packing is what I will try to emulate when I get up the nerve to start shipping. For me, it's worth the extra cost to know, without a doubt, that I am getting healthy fish. Dan's is not my only source, but it is my favorite.

Comment: All fish arrived alive and very well packaged the attention to detail surpasses anyone in the business. Each fish was double bagged and laser printed on the bag of what it was. As many of mine were juveniles it would have been hard to tell them apart inside the bag so this was fantastic. It also wasn't hand written by a rushed employee to where you couldn't read the writing. They are currently acclimating to their new homes. I see a place to add a video URL suggestion would be add a spot to add pictures.

This was my third sizable order from Dan's Fish and I have had zero losses out of any of the fish, even months later.
